Fred Ramos was born in San Juan, P.R. in 1969. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1988, where he completed his Bachelor's degree at Loyola University and went on to finish his medical training at Tulane.  It was during his residency where he discovered cycling to rehab his knee, and entered his first race in 2000.  He currently is in full time private practice as an OB/GYN in Sacramento. He lives with his wife Cindy, also an OB and cyclist, and three children, Ivan, Gaby and Jack.
